Live Streaming

Access Tucson offers a live stream of it's video channels. This is a high quality feed, and you'll need the software mentioned below and a broadband internet connection to view the live video:

We're currently exploring other software and technologies to allow playback on mobile devices. 

Technical Details

We use RTSP (Real Time Streaming Protocol) for our video streams. Quicktime Broadcaster encodes the video from a DV encoder over firewire, then broadcasts with QuickTime Streaming Server. The specifications of the stream:

  • Video: H.264, 640x480 resolution, 30 frames per second, 600kbit/s
  • Audio: AAC, 32kHz, Stereo, 64kbit/s
