Despite the best efforts of many, both the State House and Senate passed HR 2812, the Cox Cable relief bill. The only remaining hope to stop this terrible legislation is with the Governor. Please check our website at accesstucson.org where we will soon post information about how to contact Governor Napolitano about this.

We appreciate the help of our Southern Arizona delegation who valiantly voted NO on this bill. Ted Downing offered an amendment to the bill which would have permitted the City of Tucson to opt out, but it did not pass. Other legislators also worked behind the scenes to try to protect the voice of the people on cable.
