By a vote of 4-2 the Mayor and City Council approved the cable license with Cox Communications. The five year deal will go into effect on June 30. Access Tucson is planning for one of its three public access channels to move to the digital tier about July 30. Producers will be notified about the next program lottery by mail.

Thanks to all who took part in the process. It wasn’t everything we had hoped for but in the end it was a lot better than it could have been.

We will post more information — including news about two exciting new services that we will offer in 2009 because of this new agreement: Video on Demand and Virtual Live Video on Demand!
