See How TV Is Made–Book a Tour of the Station
Posted July 13th, 2007 by vikkid in News, Front Page, ClassesUniversity of Arizona TALK Camp, stopped by to learn what Access Tucson does and take part in a studio production.
In TALK camp, children and young adults are trained twice weekly in the use of appropriate Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices to assist in speech communications. UA Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences graduate students, together with a UA clinical instructor of speech-language pathology and speech aides, help AAC users practice their skills.
Participants included clients Jonathan, Jonathan, Fred, Zach, and James and graduate clinicians Margaret DeFresne, Jennifer Parrott, Kristin Nelson, Lauren Staniunas and Riah Ellis from the University of Arizona Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences.
On the tour, participants created two short studio programs using chroma-key backgrounds they designed, worked in the control room to direct the shots, insert graphics and select music for the productions. They also got to meet Tucson Police Department Traffic officers who stopped by from their TucsonVision production next door in Studio B.
