Breaking News…
Posted January 16th, 2008 by vikkid in News, What's on TV, ProductionAccess Tucson has been working to develop other playback formats since the phase out of VHS was announced. We are happy to announce the first breakthrough–we will be able to start accepting programs on DVD with the new season, March 2, 2008.
We are currently testing the new process. Basically, Access Tucson will be extracting the audio/video files on the DVDs via computer software and converting the program to a digital file for playback via our server rather than playing the DVDs in a DVD player which can be highly unreliable. DVDs may be formatted with menus and chapters but they can not by encrypted. And you can only submit one program per DVD.
Full details will be announced at a later date. Please remember that until the new season begins, Access Tucson is only able to accept DVC-Pro (L) tapes for playback.
Although Access Tucson is working to provide other playback options in this Web 2.0 world, the DVC-Pro (L) tapes still give you the best quality for playback.
