The Tucson Weekly is teaming up with Access Tucson to sponsor a televised debate among Project White House candidates appearing on the Feb. 5 Arizona presidential primary ballot.

The one-hour debate will be broadcast live from Access Tucson studios at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23 on Cox 99 and Comcast 74.

Project White House is a Reality Journalism competition sponsored by Tucson Weekly. Candidates who have qualified for the Arizona’s presidential primary are competing in a variety of challenges to win the Tucson Weekly’s endorsement.

More than half of the 48 candidates on Arizona’s presidential primary ballot are participating in Project White House. Of the 24 candidates on the Democratic ballot, 15 have agreed to participate in Project White House. Of the 24 candidates on the Republican ballot, 10 have agreed to participate in Project White House.

Average, everyday citizens will be encouraged to post short videos on YouTube asking questions for the Project White House candidates.
