Imminent Threat Diverted for Now, Stay Tuned…
Posted March 24th, 2009 by vikkid in Front Page, NewsBottom line – the process of deciding budget cuts is going to continue through April.
Mayor and Council had a general budget discussion at their study session meeting today. Concerning outside agencies of which Access Tucson is one, it was discussed that the agencies are expressing panic and uncertainty about the process. Apparently the Mayor and Council are getting a lot of calls and emails from many of these agencies.
After much discussion, the Mayor and Council decided that on April 28th, time will be set aside for representatives from the outside agencies to address the Council. This will be after the City Manager submits his budget. The thinking was that there will be something to react to instead of just presentations saying don’t cut us. They want to know how the cuts will be handled and any creative ideas groups have.
